Westside Women’s Center Transitions to Electronic Record-keeping

BURLINGTON, NC-(May 23, 2012)-For the past few months, Westside Women’s Center has been working hard to improve record-keeping for our patients by transitioning all our offices to Electronic Health Records (EHRs). This change will enable Westside doctors and staff to integrate medical information from hospitals, outpatient facilities, and laboratories in a way that is not possible in the paper format.

EHRs improve the accuracy and clarity of medical records, reduce duplication and treatment delays, and make health information available to patients, keeping them better informed and better equipped to make crucial health decisions. By streamlining information, EHRs cut down on communication errors between health providers, improving patient care.

During EHR implementation Westside patients might experience delays in appointment scheduling, seeing a doctor, or getting answers to billing questions. Patients might be asked to update information, including insurance coverage and medical health history. These delays are temporary. Westside doctors and staff appreciate your patience throughout the implementation and learning process and welcome constructive feedback on your experience as we continuously work to improve the patient experience.
